 Needle felted Ahiru!



As you can see, she is very thin. I just picked up needle felting within the last two weeks and I haven't progressed far past 2-D objects. At some point I'd like to try making a small 3-D doll of more of the characters. I think she turned out pretty great though.



The best part of needle felting is that you can felt it on to other wool things. For example, my school bag.



Yah!

So I decided to knit a stuffed animal. Specifically I was trying to knit Ahiru from Princess Tutu.

So, as it has become my custom, I will now share with you some of the knitting/felting projects I have been working on since the semester ended. Yes, I do realize that was last Friday, however I have completed enough project in order to justify a post in this short amount of time. How sad is that?

On a side note, I would like to say that the best thing about coming home is the food. I just made myself a delcious broccoli and swiss cheese omlette with pine nuts. It was lovely :D

Well, I liked the Star Trek movie. So... there.

I go to meet a professor who's class I need to graduate (a biopsychology class, in the psychology building, run by the psychology department take note of this, it is important later). I have been trying to force add this class for a couple weeks now, and I finally convinced her to meet me to sign the slip. As she is signing the slip she asks if I am a neuroscience minor. I reply that I am not, I am a biopsychology student. She looks at me warily and says "Well, I teach this class like a graduate seminar. We are going to be reading some pretty stiff papers. I know a lot of psych students who just need a 400-level class but they hate neuroscience. I just want you to consider that." I stand there, dumbfounded, considering her words. I try very hard to understand what she could possibly be implying.
- I am a psychology student so I am therefore uninterested in neuroscience
- I am a psychology student, therefore I do not have the abilities to take neuroscience seriously
- I am not a pre-med nor a neurosciene minor, therefore I am not worth her time
There isn't anyway I can interpret these words without realizing that she is insulting me to my face. I manage to say "I would be surprised if it were anything else" and leave. I take her signature and I force add myself to the class.

Wtf? Next semester is going to suck.

So while I am procrastinating on writing four essays I thought I would show off some of my recent projects.

Here is a pic of a little something I made.



The flowers are from JoAnne's floor while I actually bought the butterflies. I think it turned out rather nicely. I will be trying more felted project in the future for sure.
